About the "Bell" sisters
Tumble City
was established in 1992 as Gymnastics, Etc. At that
time, sisters Wendy Dinkel and Cheryl Hunter contracted their coaching
services to the City of Yucaipa. In 1998 the sister
team leased a small building in Redlands and moved their gymnastics
company into it. Since then the program continued to
grow and eventually moved to San Bernardino
as Empire Gymnastics, where the two decided to change their focus from
competitive developmental programs to fitness and performance oriented
programming. They sold their competitive type equipment and dissolved
"Empire Gymnastics" then moved back home to Yucaipa and opened Tumble
City. Wendy and
Cheryl began coaching together in 1986 when Wendy graduated from high
school and Cheryl hired her for the gymnastics program at the YMCA of
San Bernardino. Together, they coached boys and girls to district and
state championships.
